GOT A QUESTION?

Frequently Asked Questions

We know you’ll have questions about this exciting journey. Here are the answers to the most common queries about our scans and your Motherscan experience.

A baby scan, also known as a prenatal ultrasound, is a non-invasive imaging procedure that allows us to visualise your developing baby in the womb. It is essential for monitoring the health and development of your baby, ensuring a safe and healthy pregnancy.

The ideal time for a 3D/4D scan is typically between 26 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. During this period, your baby has developed enough fat and facial features to create clear and detailed images.

Yes, ultrasound technology is considered safe for both you and your baby. It does not use ionising radiation like X-rays. We use the latest ultrasound machines and follow strict safety protocols to ensure the wellbeing of both you and your baby during the scan.

Absolutely! We encourage you to share this memorable experience with your loved ones. Our scanning rooms are designed to accommodate your family, so they can witness these precious moments with you.

The duration of a scan appointment can vary depending on the type of scan and the individual needs of each patient. On average, appointments last between 15 and 40 minutes, depending on gestational age, scan type, and any requested printings. We allocate sufficient time to ensure a thorough examination and answer any questions you may have.

For most scans, there are no specific dietary restrictions. However, for some specialised scans, such as those that assess foetal growth, we may recommend specific preparations, such as having a full bladder or fasting.
In early pregnancy scans (5–13 weeks), having a full bladder helps to ensure better visualisation. We will provide you with clear instructions before your appointment.

Scheduling an appointment is easy! You can book online through our website, or you can email our team, who will assist you in selecting a convenient time for your scan.

While we are an independent prenatal imaging centre, we collaborate closely with local healthcare providers, obstetricians, and hospitals. We can coordinate with your healthcare team to ensure seamless care and communication.
